Virtual Programs Library

As the shift to virtual programming became our main source of engagement with the Napa community, our presentation of local history research has increased to include audience members from all over. With some of our programs reaching over 1,000 views and many nights of discussion on our collective nostalgic past and brand new research in the county, we are proud to present this library of pre-recorded virtual events. Starting with a jump over to the Redwood Coast, and continuing with a 6-part author series connected to our newest exhibit, Who Tells Our Story, click below to watch these 1-hour long recordings on Napa’s history.

Exhibits are one of the many ways we present the diverse history of the Valley. We design and install rotating exhibits every spring and fall, while maintaining a virtual exhibit space on our website. Explore our past exhibit pages here.

Education

A keystone to our mission is engaging all demographics of the Napa community in education services. From trainings in oral histories and archival standards, to partnerships with local schools, we relish the chance to work with school-aged kids, families, and beyond. Check out our newest developed initiative Education Modules, a design challenge for students of all ages to remotely research local and personal histories.

Walking Tours

Napa County’s pioneer days stretch back to the mid-1800s, a fascinating if not entirely long history. Everyone knows about our passion for good wine, but the names of the peoples and the places that built our county can at times slip through the cracks. Get to know our once-hidden history and discover a side to Napa you never knew existed, and learn the facts on record for the buildings and street names you whiz on past on the regular.

Echoes of Napa Valley

Creative ventures that echo our past. Listen to stories of Napa County from the voices in our oral history collection and also in monologue form from talented local theater performers and directors through the Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival’s “Echoes of the Napa Valley: Tulocay Project.”
