We operate a research library and exhibit space in downtown Napa. Our focus is on the local history of the entire county presented in the form of exhibits, education activities and public lectures, guided walking tours. There are many ways to dive into our rich local history.

Virtual Exhibits

A keystone to our mission is engaging all demographics of the Napa community in education services. From trainings in oral histories and archival standards, to partnerships with local schools, we relish the chance to work with school-aged kids, families, and beyond. Check out our newest developed initiative Education Modules, a design challenge for students of all ages to remotely research local and personal histories.

Walking Tours

Napa County’s pioneer days stretch back to the mid-1800s, a fascinating if not entirely long history. Everyone knows about our passion for good wine, but the names of the peoples and the places that built our county can at times slip through the cracks. Get to know our once-hidden history and discover a side to Napa you never knew existed, and learn the facts on record for the buildings and street names you whiz on past on the regular.
