UPDATE: Due to the necessary and mandated shelter-at-home restriction, the NCHS staff will indefinitely have restricted access to our collections. We are happy to accept your research requests, and our research staff are on standby to help you with your queries. Please note, some research requests and all photo requests will be put on hold, and all new memberships will be processed once it is safe for our communities to return to work.
Dear NCHS Members and Supporters,
Due to increased precautions in preventing community spread of COVID-19, the Napa County Historical Society is closed to the public at the Goodman Library and Tulocay location, until further notice. Staff will continue working and be available to answer questions, receive research requests through email@example.com.
In addition, we have asked all of our volunteers who are 65 years and older or who have underlying health conditions to follow the Governors calling for home isolation. We wish you all well and hope to see you soon.
Sending our best,

Napa County Historical Society was founded in May 1948 by locals passionate about preserving local history. In the late 1970s, then Executive Director Jess Doud secured the Goodman Library to house their ever-expanding historical research library, as well as for use in displays, exhibits, and educational programs.
Our active Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Research Librarian keep the organization running, and our corps of volunteers and interns assist with research, cataloguing, and publication. We are a small non-profit sustained by your membership and donations.
