“Napa’s Lost Suburb: Shipyard Acres” with Jennifer Huffman

Jennifer Huffman of the Napa Register joins us to present her research on Shipyard Acres, culminating her own discoveries with the work of Shirley Fore, including photographs, archives, and personal stories of what it was like to live at Shipyard Acres during the 1940s. Although not much remains of the Shipyard Acres community today, it is an important part of Napa’s history that should not be forgotten.
Jennifer Huffman has been a reporter, business editor and columnist at the Napa Valley Register for almost 18 years. Her stories cover a wide range of topics including business, real estate and the economy, but she especially likes writing about Napa people and history. Huffman also writes a regular column about motherhood and parenting called “Surrendering to Motherhood.” Her column runs every other Sunday in the Register. Huffman grew up in Santa Rosa and has lived in Napa since 1998.
This hybrid lecture will be held both in person at the Napa Valley Yacht Club, and offered virtually via Zoom, on April 20th, 7pm to 8pm. Ticket sales will close April 20th at 3:30pm.
