Salary: $85,000 to $100,000
Job Description Summary:
The Napa County Historical Society (NCHS) is looking for a dynamic Executive Director to lead our team, collaborate with the Board, engage with community partners, and educate the public to further our mission of discovering, preserving, and presenting Napa County’s history. We need an imaginative leader to advance Heritage Tourism in Napa Valley, ensure financial sustainability, and maintain our status as the leading advocate for local history.
Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will oversee policy implementation, strategic planning, and community outreach. Key responsibilities include managing operations, staff, and volunteers; developing exhibits and programs; pursuing grants and sponsorships; expanding membership; and promoting NCHS.
We seek candidates with experience in cultural organization development, a Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred), non-profit experience, and strong writing skills. Desired qualifications include experience in collections management, research, exhibits, and philanthropy. The ideal candidate will have a visionary and holistic approach to history.
