Volunteers
At this time, the Society is in need of docents on Saturdays from 12-4 p.m. and special event help. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents, please contact Jules at 707-224-1739 or research@napahistory.org
Internships
Internships at the Society require a minimum of 100 hours, to be arranged with the Research and Volunteer Coordinator. Internships are unpaid. Please send your cover letter and resume to research@napahistory.org. No phone calls.
Development/Fundraising Internship
The Napa County Historical Society is looking for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 interns to work in our development department. Development interns will work directly with the Executive Director on membership, fundraising events, sponsorship solicitation, grant research and writing and donation requests. This internship also includes the assistance for the preparation and execution of events and programs, membership coordination, and assistance with day-to-day activities.
Archival/Research Internship
The Napa County Historical Society is looking for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 interns to work in our research and collections department. Research/Curatorial interns will assist with collections management, facilitate research visitors and conduct research. Interns will also be trained in and use Past Perfect Museum Software. This internship also includes assisting the Research & Volunteer Coordinator with day-to-day activities.
Exhibition Internship
The Society is in need of interns interested in researching and assisting with the curation of upcoming exhibitions at the Society. Working with the Executive Director, interns will be responsible for all aspects of the exhibition process. Interns will also be required to participate and coordinate programs, events and fundraising related to the exhibition, as well as assist with day-to-day activities at the Society.
Public Programming/Marketing Internship
NCHS is looking for interns to work on the programming aspects of local history. This includes the creation, advertising, assistance and/or execution of monthly programs, Victorian tea parties, educational sessions, special events and youth activities. Public Programming interns will also participate in the Society's oral history committee, publications committee and assist with day-to-day activities.
Photography Archives Internship
The Napa County Historical Society is looking for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 interns to work in our photography department. Photography interns will assist with photograph collection management and conservation of photographs. Interns will also be trained in and use Past Perfect Museum Software. This internship also includes assisting the Research & Volunteer Coordinator with day-to-day activities.

Donations to our Collection
Donations for our collection are also accepted. Due to space and financial restrictions, we accept documentary artifacts, books, manuscripts, photographs and periodicals relating to the history of Napa County. To make a donation of this type, contact the Society to schedule an appointment for review of your items.
